Reflecting on Creative Conference

In December 2023, we hosted our second group show, Creative Conference, a celebration of the rich diversity within our local artistic community.

This exhibition brought together artists across various mediums—traditional paintings, contemporary sculptures, digital art, and mixed media installations—creating a vibrant tapestry of talent and perspectives.

The intentional curation encouraged dialogue between the pieces, allowing contrasting themes and styles to spark curiosity and contemplation. Architectural works by Vicki Mansley sat beside readymades by Jono Brown, prompting reflections on the relationship between our spaces and objects. Similarly, photographic portraits by Little Vintage Photography were displayed alongside abstract works by Kelly Broughton and Jessica Kirby, exploring visual storytelling across mediums.

A sense of storytelling wove through the show, with writer Cath Holland’s poems on love and nostalgia echoing through The Vault, alongside Robert Harrison's readymade photography of everyday objects evoking a sense of home.

Creative Conference fostered community and collaboration, with artists forging connections that extended beyond the exhibition. Stay tuned for updates on our participating artists as we continue to celebrate creativity within our vibrant local scene.
